Submission: INFINITY PORTAL MOD
"Defy dimensions with this Infinity Portal generator mod. You can notice how the infinity portal gives the illusion that the inner space surpasses its external components."
1. I started with some sketches.
2. Once I got to a good starting spot, I created a spec doc and sent to the master Maril who crafted a set of 3D files to print
3. Loaded 'em up into my slicer app and had a few rounds of trial and error for supports. Different sized items require different types of supports.
4. Retrofitted some old LED strings and got some measurements to match for the inside.
5. Painted the wires black to reduce visual noise, secured the switch on the top and added the mirrors.

"I wanted to “step” outside the box with this design. Do something I knew nobody else would do. The design takes inspiration from anatomy and gothic architecture. The rib cage represents structure and protection. Protecting our most vital assets from destruction. The mod was sculpted specifically for the RTFKT Dunk. Many hours were spent meticulously sculpting and reworking the design."
"It comes equipped with a secret stash in the heel mod that holds a chain with a scythe pendant along with a detachable cross pendant hanging from the toe. These pendants can easily be swapped so you can represent the light or the dark depending on your mood. The top spine attaches to the tongue clip, both of the top ribs have posts that fit in the lace holes, and the last spine has a clip that attaches to the bottom lace allowing the mod to stay in place while walking. This mod is articulated and made entirely with 3D printed flexible TPU."

"The RTFKT React is a ‘spine’ like shoelace attachment that uses piezoelectricity (electricity generated from movement), to power a sensor in the tongue that tracks walking data (e.g: pedometer, walking cadence,GPS etc). The device moves & compresses with the shoe as you walk."
"The heel attachment, however, is purely designed for aesthetics; given the ‘spine’ appearance of the entire design, the back piece is designed like a tailbone."
"The device irradiates the need to always remember to wear your smart watch. Similarly, as power is generated from walking, there’s no need to charge the devices.All walking data you track with this device would Bluetooth to an app on your phone."
"The device with 3 circles is added into the insole which compresses when you heel strike, plus, the bending of the shoelace device [combined] creates power and tracks movement data."

The RTFKT x Nike Dunk Mods Creator Challenge is a great opportunity to highlight the spirit of creativity and modding culture that defines the past, present and future of RTFKT.
We hope to source as many attachment concepts and creations as possible in order to show the infinite and unbounded creative customization that the design of the RTFKT x Nike Dunk Genesis allows for, as well as the power of a creator community.

RTFKT x Nike Dunk Genesis is equipped with removable mods and interchangeable vial attachments.
Designed with creators, gaming and internet culture. The RTFKT x Nike Dunk has three main mods: the Tongue Shield, the Heel Clip and Eyelets.
They are interchangeable and can be customized by everyone.
Note: Due to the exclusivity of these sneakers, sizes will be dependent on availability.
The best part about making custom mods for the RTFKT x Nike Dunk is that your 2D or 3D concepts can go as wild as you can image, and then turn them into reality through 3D printing. Here you have examples created by RTFKT team members:
After registering for the challenge, you'll receive an email with the RTFKT x Nike Dunk Genesis Base and Mods 3D files. There will be two different folders:
Commercial Use folder only contains the 3D files of the small Mods clips / attachments. Creators can use these to create completely new versions of Mods.
Personal Use folder contains the base and the full Mods 3D files for creators to play around with the existing mods, create enhancements or textures on top of them, etc.

- Use of the full original Heel Mod with added customized bat wings.
Example B:
- Only use of the Heel Clip to create a completely new Mod.
Both options are valid/applicable for this challenge. However, if you’d like to sell your creation, you would need to use the specific mods provided for commercialization .i.e. Example B.

To participate in this Challenge, you must agree to and abide by these official rules (“Official Rules”).
Entrant agrees that RTFKT is in no way obligated to publish or use entrant’s Submission. Entrants agree to allow RTFKT to use their name, likeness, avatar, photograph, Prize information (if applicable), biographical data and city/state of residence in programming for advertising or any other purpose in any media without further compensation or notification.
Entrants acknowledge that RTFKT and its respective Affiliates may modify and develop Submissions and may create works of authorship similar or identical to Submissions created by entrant. Entrants understand and agree that they shall not in any way be entitled to any compensation because of any such similarities. On behalf of yourself and your heirs, successors and assigns, you irrevocably and perpetually covenant and agree to release and hold harmless RTFKT, and its respective Affiliates or any of their respective shareholders, directors, officers, employees, contractors, representatives, agents, licensees, distributors, resellers, or business partners, from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the Challenge.
RTFKT is not responsible for failed, partial or garbled computer transmissions, or for technical failures of any kind affecting the Challenge in any manner, including but not limited to electronic malfunction or damage of any network, hardware or software. If for any reason the Challenge is not capable of running as planned, including, but not limited to, infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud or technical failures beyond RTFKT’s control that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Challenge (including entries or otherwise), RTFKT reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual, whether or not the individual is a participant in the Challenge, who tampers with the entry process, and to terminate, modify or suspend the Challenge. In such an event, RTFKT reserves the right to conduct the Challenge and award the Prizes in a manner which is fair, appropriate and consistent with these Official Rules, as determined by RTFKT in its sole discretion. Failure of RTFKT or Administrator to enforce any provision of these Official Rules shall not constitute the waiver of such provision. Nothing in this Challenge should be considered an employment, joint venture, agent or partnership relationship between entrant and RTFKT.
By participating in the Challenge and accepting these Official Rules, you agree a) that any action at law or in equity arising out of or relating to these Official Rules or this Challenge shall be filed in the state or federal courts of Multnomah County, Oregon. However, if you are a consumer and reside within the EU, you may also bring a claim before the competent courts of your place of residence (a) if you reside within the EU, a claim may only be brought against you in your country of residence, unless you are acting as a professional, in which case you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Oregon (b) that these Official Rules and this Challenge shall be governed by the laws of Oregon.
RTFKT will collect, hold and process any personal information provided by entrant in conjunction with this Challenge to include the entrant in the Challenge, administer the Challenge, to award prizes (if applicable), advertising of the Challenge and to hold and display for the purpose of the Challenge (where they may be shared with third parties for the purpose of the Challenge). The processing of the entrant’s personal information is necessary for RTFKT to perform its obligations under these Official Rules.
